Tagged in: Press Releases
Britain’s best loved antiques experts once again take to the road for another battle of brains, buying and banter.

The ratings winning TV series, produced by STV Productions, will once again follow Britain’s best loved experts as they travel across Britain in classic cars, hunting down rare and valuable antiques to sell at a profit.

Returning for the fifth series are top antiques experts Anita Manning, James Lewis, Philip Serrell, Catherine Southon, Charles Hanson, Mark Stacey, Thomas Plant, Charlie Ross, James Braxton, Margie Cooper, Mark Hales and the late David Barby.

In 30 brand new episodes, the 12 antiques experts will all compete to make the most profit at the end of the week. With a budget of just £200, will the experts make a profit, or a loss?

Wendy Rattray, creative director for STV Productions, said: “Antiques Road Trip returns to BBC2 screens with its winning combination of factors which make this series a real ratings success.  STV Productions has worked hard to deliver a further 30 episodes for loyal fans across the UK - viewers of the show are in for a real treat.”

Jo Street, Executive Producer for BBC, said: "It’s another terrific series with some of our experts finding surprising treasures which turn a great profit. Other experts 'crash and burn' meaning there's plenty of fun along the way."

Antiques Road Trip attracts an average audience of 1.9 million viewers and a 12% share in its early evening slot. The fourth series of Antiques Road Trip performed 42% better than the average slot performance (based on May-June 2012).
