STV increases regional news bulletins

Tagged in: Press Releases
STV will broadcast live, short news programmes just before 8pm on week days from Monday 15th April 2013.

The new regionalised bulletins will bring STV viewers the most up-to-date local and national news headlines in the heart of the peak time schedule.

The new week night news bulletins will be broadcast live from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen, reinforcing STV’s commitment to delivering quality, regional news. The programmes, up to 60 seconds in duration, will be presented by STV’s late bulletin news presenters.

Elizabeth Partyka, deputy director for channels, said: “News content is at the core of STV’s broadcast commitment as we seek to deliver the most local news offering in the UK. These additional nightly bulletins will bring viewers all the latest headlines at peak time and further enhance STV’s regional news offering.”

STV offers a local news service on air and online throughout the day. STV delivers three morning bulletins during the Daybreak programme, a lunchtime programme and the STV News at Six, with dedicated news programmes being broadcast in Glasgow, Aberdeen and Edinburgh with a bulletin for the Dundee and Tayside area, plus nightly news during the popular Scotland Tonight programme.
