STV will bring viewers comprehensive sport coverage this spring and summer, with the FA Cup final, UEFA Champions League final, top World Cup games and iconic tennis legends all in the schedule.
On Saturday 17 May STV will broadcast the FA Cup final, where Arsenal will face Hull City at Wembley Stadium. STV will also cover the UEFA Champions League final between Real Madrid and Atlético on Saturday 24 May. Both games will be streamed live on stv.tv.
STV’s new City TV channel, STV Glasgow, which launches on 2 June, will broadcast live from the Brodies Champions of Tennis tournament on 19 and 20 June. The legends match of McEnroe v Leconte will air on STV on Saturday 21 June and the full four days of tennis action will be streamed live on stv.tv. The tennis tournament is part of the ATP Champions Tour and will bring some of the world’s most iconic tennis legends to Scotland.
Later this summer, STV will bring viewers top football action from the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, including the opening match between Brazil and Croatia on 12 June, the final on 13 July and two England group games. All STV’s games will be streamed live on stv.tv and STV’s dedicated World Cup microsite will feature live text commentary of every World Cup match. Viewers will be able to watch clips of every goal and catch up with controversial talking points, as well as manager and player interviews, as they happen.
STV’s news, sport and STV Glasgow teams will provide comprehensive coverage of the Commonwealth Games, including live updates of every race, medal and results from every venue. In addition, STV Glasgow will be showcasing how the city is enjoying and engaging with the games and the variety of cultural activities happening across the city.
