STV has confirmed a landmark TV debate between First Minister Alex Salmond and leader of Better Together Alistair Darling ahead of the referendum on Scottish independence.
The debate will take place on Tuesday 5th August and be broadcast live from The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow between 2000 and 2200.
STV’s political editor Bernard Ponsonby will host the debate in front of an audience of 350 members of the public that fairly represent views from all sides.
Following the debate, a special edition of Scotland Tonight at 2230 will feature highlights and analysis.
