STV airs second live referendum debate with studio audience

STV will broadcast a second live TV debate between key members of the ‘No’ and ‘Yes’ campaigns in front of an audience of up to 350 members of the public.
                            
Yes or No – The Debate will see three representatives from each side of the referendum debate discuss key topics such as the economy, social justice, welfare, defence and international affairs.
 
The programme will be broadcast live from The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh, on Tuesday 2nd September between 2000 and 2200.  At 2230 Scotland Tonight will have all the highlights and analysis.
 
Bernard Ponsonby, STV’s political editor, will host the debate.
 
Gordon Macmillan, head of news at STV, said: “This two hour debate will give members of the public the opportunity to put their questions to key figures on both sides of the campaign. In the final days before the referendum on 18th September we are sure there will be burning questions on all the big issues.
 
“The forthcoming referendum on Scottish independence has played a significant part in our current affairs programming over the last year and we will continue to bring viewers all the latest news and analysis in the run up to the 18th September.”
 
Yes or No – The Debate will air on ITV Border between 2000 and 2200. The programme will also be broadcast on the ITV network between 2240 and 0040 on the same evening. 
 
The debate will be streamed live on www.stv.tv and will be available on the STV Player. The programme will also be repeated on STV Glasgow from 2300 on Tuesday 2nd September.
