Tagged in: Press Releases
STV has confirmed it will launch its regionalised service for Dundee on the Freesat and Sky platforms.

The new service will enable viewers in the Dundee area to receive all the latest local news on the satellite platforms. The service was previously only available on the Freeview platform.

The Dundee micro-region of STV will be available through Freesat from Monday, 1st September.  Sky viewers in Dundee will also enjoy this regionalised news content from the 17th September.

STV currently delivers content in four micro-regions, including its dedicated evening news programme, STV News at Six, which is broadcast in Glasgow, Aberdeen and Edinburgh, with a bulletin for the Dundee and Tayside area.  This allows STV to deliver highly popular local news coverage and prioritise stories relevant to its regional audience.

Bobby Hain, director of channels at STV, said: “The investment in local platforms reinforces STV’s commitment to serving audiences across Scotland and underpins our dedication to making our service accessible to consumers within STV’s licence areas.”

“We are pleased to confirm that viewers in Dundee will receive regionally relevant content on Freesat from September 1st and on Sky from September 17th
