Tagged in: Press Releases
Viewers across Scotland’s Central Belt can tune into two brand new shows on STV Glasgow and STV Edinburgh from tomorrow.

Starting Wednesday 6 January, topical entertainment show Live at Five will have hosts Hayley Matthews, Jennifer Reoch and David Farrell; they’ll be joined by guest presenters along the way.

The family friendly programme will air every weekday at 5pm on both channels, packed with great guests, cooking from local chefs, live performances by local bands and features on local history and also reflecting life today in Edinburgh, Glasgow and the surrounding areas. Live at Five will be broadcast live from the STV Glasgow studio at Pacific Quay which has been given a great new look especially for the show.

January also sees another addition to the STV Glasgow and STV Edinburgh schedule as Ewen Cameron presents The Late Show, a tongue-in-cheek chat show broadcast live at 11pm every weeknight from the STV Edinburgh studios at Fountainbridge in the heart of the capital city.

Both programmes will be available to viewers in Glasgow and Edinburgh with a mix of lively and engaging local features from the West and the East of Scotland.

Hayley Matthews will present the first Live at Five show with colleague David Farrell. She said:
“I love January; it’s a great time of year to try something new and exciting and that’s exactly how I feel about starting work with Live at Five

“David is a great host to work with and I’m sure we’ll have a lot of laughs together.

“The fact that we’ll be sitting down to have our tea and a chat whilst the majority of people at home are doing the same and joining in with us is just brilliant. Pass the forks!”

Jennifer Reoch will be off getting some winter sun at the start of 2016 but is looking forward to hosting the show on her return. She said:

“The new Live at Five show is an exciting change for us all here in the STV local teams, but much more importantly it’s a nice fresh and exciting change for our audience in 2016.

“We’ll be incorporating all our favourite local stories and local talent and bringing it you at 5pm – hopefully it will be the perfect way to start your evening!”

David Farrell is looking forward to the show’s time-slot. He said:

“I can’t wait to be part of the Live at Five team and to present the show which will be packed full of local characters, delicious food created by chefs from some of your favourite restaurants, local bands and much, much more!

“It’ll be the perfect show to take a wee slice out of your day and sit down with a cuppa and a biscuit to catch up on the great and good of our local communities, and not to mention some big names as they stop of in town along the way! There’s also a very high chance you’ll know someone’s who’s on our sofa.”

Ewen Cameron expects to be right at home in his late night show. He said:
“It’s a dream come true to host a late show as I've been a fan of this type of programme for years. It's going to be fun and unpredictable and the plan is to send you to bed with a smile!”

Channel editor Paul Hughes said: "We’re very excited to be bringing these new shows to our viewers. There’s something for everyone who already loves STV Glasgow and STV Edinburgh on either Live at Five or The Late Show. There is a real buzz in the team about the new shows, which are aimed at two very different audiences and promises to bring viewers the very best that Glasgow and Edinburgh has to offer.”

STV Glasgow launched in June 2014 and STV Edinburgh launched in January 2015. Both channels are available on Freeview channel 23, Sky channel 117 and Virgin channel 159 in their broadcast areas.
