Lorraine Kelly announces £2,568,369 raised by STV Children’s Appeal 2016

Lorraine Kelly has announced the STV Children’s Appeal 2016 has raised £2,568,369 for children and young people living in poverty in Scotland.

Lorraine Kelly, presenter and STV Children’s Appeal trustee, said: “What a fantastic night and incredible total raised. We can’t thank the generous people of Scotland enough for digging deep once again to help the children of Scotland. This money will go a long way to support children and young people in Scotland affected by poverty.”

STV Children’s Appeal trustee Lorraine was joined by Sean Batty, Ewen Cameron and Hayley Matthews with links to David Farrell and Jennifer Reoch in Edinburgh, Andrea Brymer in Aberdeen and Louise Cowie in Dundee.

In its first five years the STV Children’s Appeal raised £11 million. The charity was launched in 2011 by The Hunter Foundation and STV. In 2013, The Wood Foundation pledged its support to the Appeal for projects in the North East. The Scottish Government has match funded the first £1m raised every year since launch.
