Scotland Tonight to broadcast live from the Scottish Parliament

Tagged in: Press Releases
Scotland Tonight will broadcast live from inside the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh for a series of three special programmes on Tuesday 18th, Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th April airing on STV Glasgow and STV Edinburgh at 2230, and STV at 2300.

In a Scotland Tonight first, this series of special programmes will broadcast live from the heart of the Scottish Parliament to provide an insight into the workings of Holyrood as an institution, assessing its role in Scottish public life and whether it needs to change to meet existing and future challenges.  Presented by Rona Dougall, the programmes will also feature some of the interesting personalities who work behind the scenes at Holyrood.

Scotland Tonight has established itself as the most watched Scottish current affairs programme since launch in 2011.  The programme provides analysis of the day’s headlines and combines guest interviews and political debate and analysis with social media interaction to provide viewers with a platform for discussion of the big issues.

Gordon Macmillan, Head of News at STV, said: “This is the first time Scotland Tonight has broadcast live from Holyrood and we wish to thank the team there for their support in making these programmes possible.  This series of special programmes will provide viewers with behind the scenes access to the workings of the Scottish Parliament, the people that work there as well as analysis on its role in public life in Scotland.”
