Scotland Tonight returns to STV

Scotland Tonight - the most watched Scottish current affairs programme1 - returns to STV screens tonight (Tuesday, 27th August) before parliamentarians reconvene after the summer recess.
 
With heightened focus on the political landscape over forthcoming months, presenters John MacKay and Rona Dougall will bring viewers comprehensive current affairs reporting, political analysis and robust debate and discussion on the key issues of the day ranging from politics, sports, business, art and entertainment.  John and Rona will be joined by political editor Colin Mackay, Westminster correspondent Kathryn Samson and special correspondent Bernard Ponsonby in addition to live studio guests.
 
Scotland Tonight is broadcast live on STV, Monday to Thursday at 10.40pm and live on the STV Player.
 
Producer, Stephen Townsend, who has shaped the programme since it launched in 2011, said: “Scotland Tonight provides an accessible format which shines a light on topical stories and provides the opportunity for our viewers to join the debate about key issues.  In these unprecedented political times we are looking forward to being back on screens to provide critical analysis and in depth coverage of the news for viewers at home.”
