STV News needs a journalist with a strong sense of leadership and storytelling who wants to lead an incredible team to produce the innovative, curious and ambitious STV News at Six and support the development of our flagship current affairs programme Scotland Tonight. The broadcast producer will be a leader in the newsroom and will help guide our journalism both on television and online. The producer will inspire our journalists, presenters and technical teams to put together a dynamic newscast that sets the agenda and reflects all aspects of life in Scotland. The producer will be a positive voice at the table who isn’t afraid to push back on story ideas, but never pushes back on someone for having an original idea. They will work enthusiastically with all of their colleagues, while always putting the audience’s needs before their own. STV News at Six is a showcase for our original journalism - but its content isn’t restricted to the television. The producer will ensure our exclusive content finds life online and takes its place in the centre of conversations on social media. Reporting to the output editor, broadcast, the producer will be a key member of the team and be expected to help not only develop stories but also help develop the careers of the other journalists in the newsroom.
