Ahead of the launch of STV Glasgow in June 2014, STV is looking for budding television presenters to launch the brand new channel.

STV Glasgow is the first local television station to launch in Scotland and will be on air in summer 2014. The new channel is hiring for a number of key television roles including a weather presenter, presenters, reporters and producers.

Paul Hughes, channel editor for STV Glasgow, said: “The new channel will be an engaging, informative media service for Scotland’s largest city and these new roles provide fantastic opportunities for enthusiastic people who want to be involved in the launch of a brand new television station.

“The channel will interact with community groups from across the city and reflect everything that goes on within Glasgow on a daily basis. This is an exciting launch of a new platform for the people of Glasgow and we want our staff to be as lively and vibrant as the city itself.”

STV Glasgow is a partnership between STV and Glasgow Caledonian University, providing students with the opportunity to gain experience in a live broadcast environment.

Ofcom announced the award of licences to STV for Glasgow and Edinburgh in January 2013. The new channels will be available on Freeview and Sky.

Please note the deadline for applications for these roles was Friday 10 January.
