STV Productions has been commissioned to make another four series of long running hit show Antiques Road Trip for BBC One and a brand new series of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip for BBC Two.

Series 9-12 of Antiques Road Trip (80 x 45’’) will air over two years with filming starting spring 2014. The series follows the country’s top antiques experts as they battle it out in a search for quirky and valuable antiques to auction off for profit, with all profits going to Children in Need. The experts pair up for a scenic road trip through the British countryside, visiting antiques shops and local areas of interest while exploring the country’s rich historical and cultural heritage.

The 20 x 60’’ new episodes of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip is the fourth series, with previous episodes featuring celebrity antiques hunters Terry Wogan, Caroline Quentin, Honor Blackman, Britt Ekland, Clive Anderson, Emilia Fox,  Kirsty Wark and Jodie Kidd.

Both series have been hugely popular with BBC audiences. Antiques Road Trip attracted its highest average audience in early 2014 with 2.9 million viewers, securing a place as one of BBC One's top five daytime programme series. Celebrity Antiques Road Trip attracted its top audience in 2013 with 2.2 million viewers.

Antiques Road Trip and Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, including the back catalogues, will be distributed internationally by Red Arrow International.

Wendy Rattray, creative director of STV Productions, said: “It's fantastic that the successful and long running format for Antiques Road Trip and its celebrity version continue to entertain, and we are thrilled that BBC are making a long term investment in the series with another 100 episodes.”

Jo Street, Commissioning Editor, BBC, said: “Antiques Road Trip is a quality piece with great provenance! It continues to delight the audience with ever more daring antics from the experts, the unexpected locations and intriguing visits. We're thrilled to continue the journey.”
