Sean has been a long time supporter and fundraising hero for the STV Children’s Appeal, taking part in multiple cycling challenges across the Western Isles and Northern Isles, competing in highland games, sporting events, baking contests and climbing Ben Nevis, all in aid of the STV Children’s Appeal. Throughout all of his past challenges he has been joined by supporters from communities across Scotland, and this year Sean is looking to meet many more fundraisers to help him on his way.
Sean Batty said:  “This is the fifth year I’ve been involved in the STV Children’s Appeal and I’m looking forward to getting back in the saddle for this great cause. I will be taking on over 150 miles of cycling with this year’s coast to coast challenge.  The journey will take me from Tarbert in Argyll, across the water to the north of Arran, through Ardrossan, Kilmarnock, Lanark, Edinburgh, Gullane, North Berwick and finishing in Dunbar.”
“In previous years I’ve met so many incredible fundraising champions from all over the country and I’m looking forward to having a wee cuppa with the schools, organisations, businesses and individuals who are hosting their own fundraising events and getting behind the Appeal this year.”
Elizabeth Partyka of the STV Children’s Appeal said:  “Sean has been an incredible ambassador for the charity since the launch of the STV Children’s Appeal five years ago.  It has been overwhelming to see communities across Scotland come out and lend their support to the Sean and the Appeal over the years.  I hope everyone from Tarbert to Dunbar will help fight child poverty right here in Scotland and get behind Sean’s efforts in this challenge.”
Sean’s Challenge is proudly supported this year by Accident Helpline Scotland.
Do you live in any of the communities mentioned above?  Individuals and groups are invited to join Sean along the route to support the challenge and be part of the programming that will air on the STV Children’s Appeal live show later in the year.
