Scottish artist Gerard Burns donates work for McTear's charity auction
Tagged in: Press ReleasesThe painting depicts a young woman dressed in white holding her hand outstretched towards a dove in flight. The painting has received a valuation from McTear’s of £2,400.
Elizabeth Partyka of the STV Children’s Appeal said: “We’re thrilled about this generous donation from Gerard. Last year the online auction raised £39,960 for children and young people in Scotland and I am confident that it will be a great success this year too. I know there are many people who would love to own a piece of Scottish contemporary art – raising money for a great cause makes such a purchase all the sweeter.”
The auction is open for bids on the painting now. Other lots range from sporting tickets to family photography sessions and include amazing items such as two Manchester United executive seat tickets at Old Trafford, a signed Andy Murray shirt and two tickets to the Belladrum Tartenheart Festival in 2016.
Brian Clements, managing director of McTear’s said: “McTear's is proud to once again to host the Grand Online Auction for the STV Children's Appeal 2015, with lots of brilliant items and experiences on offer, there really is something for everyone to bid on and raise money for this excellent cause at the same time.”
