As STV prepares to enhance its digital news output for consumers, the company has today announced the appointment of Suzanne Lord as News Intake Editor.
Suzanne’s appointment comes as STV gets ready to launch the next generation of its News app scheduled to go live in early 2016. The new app will bring enhanced news, sport and weather coverage, with additional analysis, comment and rich video content. As a result, significant changes to the newsgathering operation are taking place.
Reporting to STV’s Head of News Gordon Macmillan, Suzanne will oversee newsgathering across both STV’s digital and broadcast teams and manage correspondents, reporters and news organisers across Scotland.
Suzanne joins the team from the BBC where she worked in a number of senior roles including leading network newsgathering in Scotland. Suzanne’s most recent role at the Corporation was as Editor of TV News Training at the BBC Academy.
Suzanne will take up her role in late November. She said:
“I’m delighted to be joining the STV News team as we prepare to launch our innovative news app. Now all of the STV reporters and correspondents across Scotland will contribute to both our broadcast and digital news services, ensuring we always bring the best and most up-to-date news service to consumers, no matter where they are in Scotland or how they choose to access STV News.”
