Jimmy Carr, Fay Ripley and Ellie Simmonds in Catchphrase celeb special

ITV’s hit game show Catchphrase kicks off the new year with a hilarious celebrity special on 6 January.
Comedian Jimmy Carr, Cold Feet star Fay Ripley and Paralympic swimming champion Ellie Simmonds show off their most competitive sides in the show, which airs at 18.00, with all three equally determined to walk away with £50,000 for their chosen charity.
Jimmy plays to win funds for Chelsea and Westminster Hospital burns unit, Ellie supports the Dwarf Sports Association and Fay competes to win cash for Matthew's Friends.
Popular host Stephen Mulhern - joined as always by his animated sidekick, Mr Chips - invites the star players to ‘say what they see’ to guess the familiar catchphrases, and viewers can expect lots of laughs along the way.
When all of the celebs fail to guess a particularly tricky catchphrase and the audience shout the correct answer, "Dip into your savings!", Jimmy replies: "I haven't got any savings - I've got a massive tax bill!”.
Gary Chippington, head of entertainment at STV Productions, which produces Catchphrase for ITV, said: “Our celebrity special starring Jimmy, Fay and Ellie is one of our funniest episodes ever so we hope viewers tune in to shout at the telly at home.”
