STV’s entertainment show What’s On Scotland returns to the channel on Friday 30th August providing viewers with a big showbiz ‘welcome’ to the weekend.
With a new look and new features, the half-hour programme is presented by Emma Cameron and will offer celebrity interviews, a look at the latest Hollywood blockbusters as well as a ‘what’s on’ guide to our vibrant culture, music and arts scene, plus all the juicy TV and soap gossip.
STV Entertainment Reporter Laura Boyd will take a look at what’s hot at the box office and interviews guests such as comedians Eddie Izzard and Russell Kane and the cast of Still Game.
Music journalist Nicola Meighan completes the programme line-up and talks to the music makers – people who work behind the scenes in the music industry - such as music impresario and founder of Creation records, Alan McGee, and actor, director and musician Cora Bissett.
Emma said: "With the Edinburgh Festivals but a memory, I’m excited to bring our viewers their regular Friday night must-watch guide to the weekend.  As the autumn nights begin to draw in we will be going indoors to our brand new set and will be bringing our viewers all the latest showbiz and entertainment news.  Don’t miss it!”
What’s On Scotland reflects STV’s commitment to be ‘Scotland’s home of news and entertainment’ and is produced by STV News.  It was commissioned by Stephen O’Donnell, STV’s Director of Programme Strategy & Marketing, who said: “What’s on Scotland has returned with a new look and a new studio.  It’s a great way to round off the working week and start planning your weekend entertainment, with the best of what’s on from across Scotland.”
