This Christmas, Sean Batty celebrates his favourite season of the year, embarking on a scenic journey across Scotland as preparations for the holidays get underway.
In Sean's Festive Scotland, airing at 7.30pm on Tuesday 17 December on STV, viewers will follow STV’s popular weather presenter as he travels across the country meeting the people and visiting the places that help make Christmas special.  Sean meets some of Scotland’s farmers, from those responsible for cultivating the Christmas trees soon to be adorned with lights and baubles, to those who grow the Brussels sprouts we serve up with our Christmas turkey.
In Aviemore, Sean meets the Cairngorm Reindeer Herd and finds out why the climate of the area makes it a perfect home for this majestic breed - when they’re not out helping Santa deliver presents.  He also visits Glencoe Mountain Resort, which creates snow to help keep Scotland’s winter sports resorts thriving, even if the white stuff doesn’t always make an appearance.
Sean’s Festive Scotland follows the success of seven-part series Sean’s Scotland which aired earlier this year.  The programme was STV’s highest rating regional production of 2019, reaching more than 1m people across the series*, even beating Love Island in the ratings in Scotland.
STV weatherman Sean Batty, said: “Anyone who knows me will tell you I’m obsessed with two things – Christmas and snow, and this festive Special brings you both of these in snow shovels!  We’ve travelled the country finding out how Scotland prepares for Christmas, including meeting Scotland’s only reindeer herd, but will we find out their secret of how to fly on Christmas Eve?
“So get comfy, make a hot chocolate and tune in to the show – I guarantee it’ll leave you dreaming of a white Christmas.
Stephen O’Donnell, Director of Programme Strategy & Marketing at STV, said: “Sean’s Scotland has been a real success story for us this year. The audience feedback has been exceptionally positive; it even beat Love Island in the ratings! So, to ramp up the festive spirit we’ve teamed Sean’s infectious love all things Christmas, stunning Scottish winter scenes and the people and stories behind Christmas, to make a special festive treat!”
