STV Studios’ Factual department is well known for producing hugely successful programming such as Antiques Road Trip for BBC1, Celebrity Antiques Road Trip for the BBC2, The Yorkshire Auction House for Discovery+/Really, Inside Central Station for BBC Scotland and hard hitting documentaries such as Is Covid Racist?, Dunblane: Our Story and Fire in The Night.
We have a number of Runner opportunities (for 3 or 4.5 months) to work on upcoming series. The successful candidates will have a passion for storytelling, love television in all forms, are curious about the world and are real self-starters. No experience of working in TV is required.
These roles are starting in August – on either 3 month or 4.5 month basis.
Responsibilities of role
As a Runner you will be an integral member of the production team supporting the Director and wider production team both in the office and whilst on location. You would be responsible for petty cash, equipment and making sure the team is in the right place at the right time. The role will be based in our Pacific Quay offices in Glasgow; however it will also involve extended periods of travel whilst filming on location.
Do you have previous experience in hospitality or customer service? We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills coupled with the ability to think on their feet and deal with conflicting priorities calmly and effectively. An interest in filming or photography would be a bonus as there are opportunities to get hands on with camera kit.
This role will also include driving the Production vehicle to and from location and therefore for insurance purposes, due to the size of the vehicle, candidates are required to be 21 years old or over, and have held a full UK drivers license for at least one year.
