Driving Scotland’s future creative economy

STV has confirmed investment in a new bursary scheme for Scottish students.  Working in partnership with the Royal Television Society, STV will offer 10 students from Scottish universities annual bursary funding of £1,000 for the duration of their degree, along with a comprehensive programme of work placements and mentoring opportunities at STV.  STV will also work closely with RTS Scotland to offer a wider programme of activities for students, including networking opportunities and industry insight sessions.  The support will help participants establish a network of industry contacts and gain a fuller insight into the range of career opportunities available within the creative industries.
 
Applications for the bursary scheme will be accepted until 30th June 2019. The scheme is open to students starting their course in 2019, as well as those who began their degree in 2018.  To apply please visit the RTS website https://rts.org.uk/education-training/rts-bursaries.

  • Senior Back End Developer (Glasgow)

    Closing date: 21 June 2019

    The world of media streaming is fast-paced and constantly changing, and STV is determined to lead the way with our new digital strategy. Our development teams are working to transform our video streaming service, STV Player, into a world-class platform. As a Senior Back End Developer, you will be working within cross-functional teams in STV Digital, delivering the back-end services that power the STV Player video streaming platform. You will own the services you work on from cradle to grave - helping product management and engineering leadership define the requirements and architecture, through to supporting the services running in production.

  • Customer Experience Executive (Glasgow)

    We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Experience Executive at STV. Sitting within the Marketing and Creative team, this role will support the Customer Experience Manager to deliver a first class customer experience across all communication touch points with STV including email marketing, push notifications and customer enquiries.

  • Digital Media Manager (Glasgow)

    STV Player is the catch-up service for STV in Scotland. It houses some of the UK’s biggest TV brands, including Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Britain’s Got Talent, The X Factor and I’m A Celebrity. As a member of the STV Player product team, the Media Manager role is essential to the smooth operation of the STV Player by ensuring the timely and accurate publishing of an ever-increasing array of content across an ever-growing number of platforms.

  • UX Designer (Glasgow)

    Closing date: 26 June 2019

    We have an exciting opportunity for a UX Designer to join our newly formed Digital division. This role will involve working together with the Data team to conduct research, identifying interesting problems, opportunities and ideas for personalisation of the STV Player and explore solutions. Once you and the team are confident with the solution, you will produce a high-fidelity prototype and organise testing sessions.Throughout the year you and the design team will build relationships with various charities and coordinated user research sessions to evaluate the inclusiveness of the STV Player.

  • Automation Tester (Glasgow)

    Closing date: 01 July 2019

    We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Automation Tester to support the development of our digital products and platforms. Working in a fast paced, collaborative environment you will primarily be responsible for ensuring core functionality is automated across our supported platforms. You will be heavily involved in the creation of automated test scripts, their execution and contribute to overall continuous improvement within the QA team. You will also be involved in manual testing when required across STV’s multiple digital platforms including iOS & Android apps, web & connected TVs.

  • Finance Administration Assistant (Part Time) (Glasgow)
