Pride of Scotland Awards return to STV to honour the nation’s unsung heroes

Elaine C. Smith and Sanjeev Kohli have been confirmed as hosts of the 2022 Daily Record Pride of Scotland Awards, with TSB, which will return to STV for a third year on Tuesday 19 July.

Still Game icon Kohli will host the ceremony for the first time, while national treasure and Two Doors Down star Smith returns after making her Pride of Scotland debut in 2020.

Filmed at Edinburgh’s Assembly Rooms, the programme will celebrate ordinary people doing extraordinary things, and will see a group of awe-inspiring Scots being recognised for their outstanding achievements.

Winners being celebrated include a six-year-old cancer sufferer who had to endure treatment in isolation, a lone female police officer who bravely tackled a knife-wielding attacker, a charity founder who recently led a mercy mission to rescue Ukranian orphans from the war zone, and the youngest Scot suffering from motor neurone disease.

Lulu, John Hannah, Sam Heughan, Gordon Ramsay and Joe McFadden are among the famous Scots honouring this year’s inspirational winners, while Wishaw musical duo Saint PHNX deliver an exclusive performance, and Lulu surprises the audience with an impromptu rendition of one of her biggest hits.

The Daily Record Pride of Scotland Awards with TSB airs on STV and STV Player at 8pm on Tuesday 19 July.

Blockquote open It’s an honour to host the Pride of Scotland again and shine a light on unsung heroes from across this great nation. These heroes rarely seek attention, yet what they do changes and transforms the lives of others – whether that’s in one simple act or in a lifetime’s work. It’s going to be a magical evening and I’ve got my tissues at the ready as there is going to be a whole lot of greetin’ going on Blockquote close

Blockquote open I'm absolutely thrilled to be presenting the Pride of Scotland Awards with Elaine. I always love the opportunity to shine a light on people who genuinely deserve it, and there is no better place for that than Pride of Scotland. I can't wait to meet the winners. Blockquote close
