STV’s Emma Cameron and Laura Boyd back for new series of hit magazine show, What’s On Scotland

STV has announced that weekly entertainment magazine series What’s On Scotland is set to return for a bumper 19-week run on Friday 24 June.

The show, which originally launched in 2019, will reunite presenters Emma Cameron and Laura Boyd to talk all things movies, music, theatre and telly every Friday night – and give viewers some inspiration for where to go and what to see across Scotland.

Each week, Emma and Laura will be joined by some of the biggest names in showbiz, as well as a host of rising stars, to discuss the wealth of entertainment taking place throughout the country in the first summer since Covid restrictions on public gatherings were eased.

Fresh from his sold-out gig at Inverness’ Eden Court Theatre, comedian Alan Carr appears on Friday’s launch episode to discuss his ongoing UK stand-up tour, the return of his Epic Gameshow to STV, and the hilarious moment he stole the show from Adele during her STV music special last year.

Elsewhere, Dumfries and Galloway-born actor Sam Heughan will drop in to chat about the starring role in Outlander that has made him a household name around the world, as well as his altogether different new role alongside James Nesbitt and Richard E. Grant in Channel 4 thriller, Suspect.

What’s On Scotland will also shine the spotlight on the best films and TV shows to watch each week, as well as highlighting all the hottest gigs, shows and festivals lighting up Scotland in the weekend ahead.

What’s On Scotland begins on STV at 7pm on Friday 24 June and will be available to stream on STV Player.

Blockquote open I can’t believe it’s been three years since we last fired up the What’s On Scotland studio and brought the glitz and glam of the Scottish entertainment scene direct to viewers’ living rooms. Talking to some of the biggest stars and most promising new talent every Friday is something that I’ve really missed, so I’m delighted to be joining Laura in bringing What’s On Scotland back to screens for another summer of fun. Blockquote open Entertainment is officially back on the agenda! After two years of slim cultural pickings thanks to Covid, Summer 2022 is going to be one heck of a ride in Scotland, with live gigs, touring theatre shows and Hollywood blockbusters returning in their droves. As an entertainment reporter, it really does feel like all my Christmasses are about to come at once, and I can’t wait to help viewers plan their own feasts of entertainment with our jam-packed ‘what’s on’ guide every week on STV.
